The purpose of this site is to highlight some of the lesser known historical facts concerning Plympton. Collated by myself from various sources of reference and using the original publications and passages involved to give the most authentic description of Plympton in the past. I have dealt only with what I consider to be the most interesting facts which may engage and surprise the reader, Plympton really was and still is a great place to live and long may it’s history be remembered and it’s future from over-zealous development be protected….
Plympton lies in the far south west of Devon, separated by the River Plym from the City of Plymouth and was a town long before Plymouth came into existence.
